Pregnancy and parenthood
At Granite Peaks Ultras, we believe family comes first, so we don’t want you to have to choose between trail running and starting a family. To support all our runners, and to make sure women have an equal, welcoming space at the start line, we have created this policy. We want you to focus on your family without worrying about losing your race spot.
Who is eligible?
This policy covers anyone growing their family between the day they sign up and race day. It applies to:
- Pregnant runners
- Runners whose partners are pregnant
- Parents welcoming a child through adoption or surrogacy
- Anyone undergoing IVF or fertility treatment
This policy also fully applies to you if your pregnancy does not go to term.
Your choices: refund or deferral
If you need to change your plans, you can choose between a full refund or a deferred race entry that you can use any time over the next 2 years.
The fine print
If you choose to defer, make sure you still meet the minimum experience criteria for your chosen distance when you activate your place and register for your comeback race.
How to apply
We want to keep this simple and private. Just email the race directors at the address below with:
- Your name
- Which category applies to you
- Whether you want a refund or a deferral
- A copy of your supporting paperwork (like a doctor’s note or adoption document). We promise to keep this strictly confidential.
